MATERIAL EXAMINATION
Along the production path the castings are subjected to destructive tests in order to verify their integrity. In the internal technological laboratory, all the other tests are carried out on steel samples, hot or cold, or together with the required product certification.
Chemical analyses
For chemical analyses we use:
Wet equipment of the elements of all alloys metallic.
ARL iSpark 8860 spectrometer, programmed for the analysis of 23 elements in low and high alloy steels, alloys based on nickel and cast iron.
LECO instrument, Carbon and Sulfur instant analysis, with error at the fourth decimal place.
LECO instrument for the determination of oxygen e of nitrogen, type TC-36.
Mechanical tests
Tensile test: at room temperature and high temperatures (up to 1050 ° C).
Impact test: at room temperature and at low temperatures (down to -196 ° C).
Hardness: various portable and fixed devices (including Equotip).
Bending test.
Dimensional check
GOM AND FARO ARM tool.
Thickness check
KRAUTKRAMER digital luminaire.
Roughness check
Subtronic Duo device.
Residual Stress check
According to ASTM E 837
Corrosion tests
According to ASTM G 48 – ASTM A 262 – NACE TM 0177 – NACE TM 0284
